Concept for Oak Construction

Oak Construction: No. 2

Every home begins as a line. A night-and-limestone concept for a Coastal Delaware builder, where a single brass line draws the plan, becomes the drawing, and resolves into the finished house as you scroll.

A fine line drawing of a two-storey house on a dark graphite page, titled “The line becomes a drawing.”

A dark page with a single horizontal line under the heading “Every Oak home begins as a line.”

01 / 03

Every home begins as a line.

The story opens on a dark page with one brass hairline. The scroll is the pencil: as you move, the line starts to travel.

A line drawing of a house elevation with a dimension rule below it.

02 / 03

The line becomes a drawing.

The same line folds into an elevation: roof, windows, the garage wing, a dimension rule beneath. Nothing is swapped; the drawing is the line.

A photograph of a grey shingled house with a front porch under a blue sky, titled “The drawing becomes a home.”

03 / 03

The drawing becomes a home.

The drawing holds while the photograph of the finished house rises in behind it, so the plan and the real home share one frame.

The opening of the walkthrough: a cedar-clad home in the trees, titled “Built beyond code.”“One road map, every home.” Process phases drawn as architectural sheets on a dark page.A finished canal-side home with a stone base and wraparound decks, from the homes section.
